Note 1: Radiant will never run under MacOS 9 so if you want to map for Quake 3 and Q3 derivatives you will need to upgrade. Time to move on, man.

Note 2: This guide does not cover the use of Fink and dselect or the X11 window system. There are plenty of good instructions on these programs that can be found elsewhere.

Note 3: If you have any problems try the Radiant FAQ.

1: Download X11 for Mac OS X from Apple.

2. Download Fink from Sourceforge.

3. Follow the instructions to install Fink.

4. Install the " x11-syst system-xfree 4.2-11" package using the dselect command.

5. In your Terminal type "sudo pico /sw/etc/apt/sources.list" and add the following line to the end of the list: "deb http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/nightly release main" then type control-o and hit return and then type control-x.

6. Start dselect and run the "update" process. After the "update" process completes run the "select" process and choose the radiant3 package and install it.

7. Change directories to the main fink binary directory using the command "cd /sw/bin/".

8. Launch X11 for Mac OS X.

9. Run the Radiant installer by using the command "./radiant3".

10. The Radiant installer will guide you through the process to set up Radiant3.
